About the event
A staple of Chicago airwaves, John Williams can be heard on WGN Radio weekdays from 10am to 2pm. John also hosts “The Mincing Rascals”, an award-winning podcast where he guides a roundtable of the city’s top journalists through the week's most vital headlines.
Before arriving in Chicago, he hosted middays on WCCO Radio, Minneapolis, for four years. Prior to that, John spent ten years at WMBD, Peoria. His first radio job out of college was WSPY, Plano, Illinois.
Over the years, John has received several broadcasting awards including a Silver Dome award from the Illinois Broadcasts Association for “Best Radio Personality”. Other awards include, “Best Afternoon show” and “Best Talent on a News/Talk/Sports Station”. John has also been voted “favorite Radio personality” four years in a row by West Suburban Living Magazine. The Chicago Headline Club has given its Lisagor Award for excellence to John’s shows and podcasts in 2022,…
