Starting Thursday, October 1st, The Abbey Gallery & Studio at the Ottawa Center for the Arts is opening its doors every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for an open-door, no-judgment Artists’ Drop-In. Bring whatever creative beast you’re currently wrestling with—half-finished oils, moody charcoal sketches, wire armatures, or that experimental sketchbook piece you’re terrified to show your family.
We’re building a thriving, supportive tribe of visual artists across the whole of the Starved Rock and Illinois River Valley regions to share studio hacks, swap trade secrets, and celebrate the glorious friction of making things from scratch.
To keep the creative gears turning, we’ve got a fully primed cash bar serving craft beers, fine wine, and cocktails, alongside a communal spread for potluck snacks. Grab your supplies, bring your weirdest ideas and favorite finger foods, and come…
