About the event

Brennen Heaver is a dedicated trombonist and freshman at Ottawa Township High School with a passion for music. Since picking up the instrument in fifth grade, Brennen has established himself as a standout performer in the Illinois Valley music scene. He won the Junior Division Championship of the 2025 Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, where he performed Guilmant’s Morceau Symphonique.
At Ottawa High School, Brennen plays in the Wind Ensemble and has earned high placements in the ILMEA District Junior High and High School Bands and Jazz Band. In his middle school years, he could be found playing at Tuba Christmas, in the Festival of Lights parade, and with the Spring Valley Municipal Band during the summer. Beyond the trombone, Brennen is a multi-instrumentalist who has studied guitar and piano, and he even earned his Bugling Merit Badge in 2024.
